1.

Q:

First of all, can you briefly introduce yourself? (Like, where are you from? How long have you been in Shanghai? Which district are you living? What do you do in Shanghai? ,etc.)

A:

Hi, I’m Egor. I’m from Uzbekistan and I have been living in Shanghai for two years now. I’m in Changning district. I came here for work with a model agency and right now I am just enjoying the city.

2.

Q:

How long have you been in this home quarantine? What's the situation of your area or building? How do you manage to solve the basic grocery problem? Do you have enough supplies at the moment?

A:

For now, our quarantine lasts for 19 days so far. I honestly don’t really know the whole situation of our district but in our building, they found 2 extra postive cases and apparently, we’ll be locked for another two weeks, but who knows lol, well you know what I mean... luckily, we have very nice neighbors, they helped us with some groceries in the middle of this “self” isolation period. For now, we have enough food to live for another week let’s say. Usually, the best way to get food in my case is order it through Epermarket.

3.

Q:

Has this lockdown changes your working mode? Is it very different from going to work in the company? What is a typical work day and weekend day for you, during this quarantine?

A:

This lockdown actually cut all my upcoming jobs, well postponed. My job can’t be executed online unfortunately. So basically, it’s endless weekend for me now.

4.

Q:

What are the warmest AND the most disappointing social news you saw, during this lockdown?

A:

The warmest part is nothing lasts forever and this lockdown will be finished sooner or later. On the other hand, there’s plenty of disappointments in the whole situation. As I said luckily, I’m in very nice place with people around who actually care for each other and despite this fact there’s still a lot of people which actually are craving for basic daily supplies like water. We all know how disorganized and inhuman this lockdown occurred to so many people in this city.

5.

Q:

We saw so much chaotic news every day, has this changed your impression about Shanghai? From 1-10, how much do you score for Shanghai’s lockdown solutions? Any suggestions to improve?

A:

I can’t say a lot about it but I find this zero Covid policy as some failure to be honest, it helped me to make my final decision on leaving China in the end of this year.

6.

Q:

How do you manage to keep your mind relatively stable during this special period? Have you found some good ways of releasing stress or depression?

A:

I have my very special techniques. Well, it’s not that special but for me haha. They are meditations, working out, reading and getting out of radar let’s say. And the key is making it all systematically and with total involvement.

7.

Q:

From the lockdown, are there any positive lessons or messages that you want to share with other people? (Please attach 2-3 representative photos taken during the lockdown)

A:

Just use this time as self-cleansing and generating your mind and body for bigger goals. To put nutshell down I just want to say that it’s perfect timing for embracing yourself. Cherish your achievements and get ready to rock in future!😉
